Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): The Janata Dal United intending candidate of 5 Ghaspani II Assembly Constituency Kitoho S Rotokha accompanied by party workers undertook a series of campaign for the upcoming assembly election in the recent past.
As per a press release from the JDU Nagaland Media Cell, the team visited Hozukhe, Nikhekhu, and Nihokhu on October 18 and Ato area of Toshiho, Khehoi and S. Hetoi villages on October 21.
Party officials from the parent body, Youth wing and women wing accompanied the intending candidate, it said.
Interacting with the village elders, Village Council members, Women organisations and youth bodies, he emphasized on the much needed positive changes in our society, Rotokha stated during the campaign.
Change is needed bring about overall development, generate employment avenues secure a brighter future for our upcoming generations, said Rothoka, who is also the general secretary of JDU Nagaland.
Further stating that the main objective of any government is to look after the overall welfare of its citizens, he maintained that that the present day government has turned a blind eye to the basic needs of its citizens particularly 5 Ghaspani II AC, the release stated.
During the campaign on October 18, the spokesperson of the Youth Wing, JDU Nagaland, Inoka Yepthomi highlighted about the prospect of JDU at the centre.
He stressed that Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar and supremo of JDU who is taking initiative to unify Non-BJP party to form main front to take on BJP in 2024 came to Nagaland and addressed a gathering at the DDSC stadium Dimapur on October 11, the release said.
Yepthomi further noted that Kumar also expressed his happiness and confidence on the leadership of NSN Lotha, President, JDU Nagaland and Rotokha, it added.
Also addressing the campaign, Advocate Akhotso Kehie, urged upon everyone present to be aware of the rights guaranteed to the citizens of the country under the constitution and also urged the voters to be upright, do away from selling their votes like commodities and instead cast their valuable vote for the candidate who can and will represent them in the assembly in truest terms.
In Ato Area on October 21, Rotokha also expressed his dismay that the 5 Ghaspani II AC was “most backward” in terms of development, conditions of roads, basic infrastructure in hospitals and schools and most importantly in terms of livelihood of the people of the constituency.”
He opined that the law abiding citizens of any constituency deserves a better life and challenged the people of the constituency to wake up and cast their valuable vote for the right candidate and leader who can lead them in positively competing with the rest of the people of Nagaland, the release added.
