Jesuit Schools of Nagaland hosts science and arts event

Kohima, May 27 (MExN): Jesuit Schools of Nagaland (JESON) organized science and arts exhibition and competition where eight Jesuit schools participated. It was an occasion for the young scientists to exhibit their projects and explain their effective use and relevance.  

The projects included smart city, generation of electricity through different processes, conservation of water, water harvesting, traditional Naga Industries, etc. It was inaugurated by Dr. Visakhonü Hibo, Principal of Jafpü Christian College, Kigwema.  

In her inaugural address, Dr. Hibo stressed on the contribution of various scientists and encouraged the children to learn from the real life experiences. After the inaugural programme, she visited every project and interacted with the students after listening to their explanation.  

Various neighbouring schools, both private and government, had a glimpse of the exhibits and narrations of the students.  

The days programme ended with distribution of awards. The closing ceremony was anchored by Theguolhouno. Rev. Fr. Victor D Mello SJ, the Coordinator of Jesuit Schools North East in his speech appreciated the various projects and called upon the young minds to be more innovative and creative. He also thanked the teachers who trained the young scientists.  

Rev. Fr. Gerard Rego SJ, the acting Rector of St Paul Institutions was the chief guest and handed over the prizes.
