JMS celebrates 25 years of existence

Mokokchung, April 3 (DIPR): Jubilee Memorial School (JMS), Mokokchung which was started on April 3, 1989, in commemoration of Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Mokokchung Town Baptist church (MTBA) celebrated its Silver Jubilee today at Town Hall Mokokchung.

Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest, Chief Secretary, Nagaland, Banuo Z. Jamir said that JMS, Mokokchung, which is the only school in Nagaland being affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), was always special to her and mentioned that she is impressed with what the school has achieved today. Banuo Jamir thanked the MTBA for taking the bold step in opening JMS, saying that it is through education that Christianity was deeply rooted in the state.

While commending the good academic records of the school, the Chief Secretary also said that Excellence has no ceiling, therefore achieving 100% should not be the end in itself for there is always more to achieve.

The chief guest while appreciating the efforts put up by the teachers of JMS for the last 25 years maintained that team work for teachers are the pillars of the school and the unsung heroes in our society.

The Chief Secretary also reminded the teachers that one should not take the profession as a backup option. She said in the fast changing world, teaching is becoming one of the most challenging profession. She urged the teachers to be always in the constant mood of learning saying that it is a crime if we deny the growth of innate intelligence in a child.
