DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 28 (MExN): Students of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Mon are on strike, protesting the non-availability of PGT-Chemistry teacher whose post is lying vacant since August 4, 2016.
The JNV Mon students launched an agitation today whereby the whole school was locked down and classes did not take place. “Teachers and students were not allowed to enter inside the academic block and we will continue this strike until the problem is solved,” informed a press statement on behalf of the JNV students, Mon.
They lamented that the authorities are “not paying attention to our demand…At this tip point we are forced to launch agitation which has led to strike.”
“The students here have been told to expect the teacher to be arriving every now and then but, at the end of the day everything remains the same and still no teacher was posted. All the higher authorities are silent on this matter. But their silence is not going to cover the wound, instead we are requesting them to take all the necessary steps and action to avail us our teacher,” the statement demanded.
