As per the order of Kohima Deputy Commissioner, the district administration, police, Kohima Municipal Council, Public Health Engineering Department and power department has been carrying out a joint eviction drive in Kohima from November 28.
Recently, Kohima DC issued an order for removal of building materials, firewood, pigsties, temporary urinals, off-road vehicles, optical fiber cables/wires, water pipes and other eyesore structures in and around Kohima town. It ordered that other materials will be seized and vehicles will be towed away. Charges of towing to be borne by the owner and all seized materials to be bought back by the owners at the cost involved.
The order has been issued in pursuance to the Office Order of even no dated 24th October 2018 and observing that despite several reminders, some companies/ contractors/ sub-contractors/residents are still not adhering to the directive issued earlier.
