Opposition leader and Naga People’s Front (NPF) Legislature Party leader TR Zeliang today said that the BJP, NPF and NDPP will be having a joint sitting on September 18 in Kohima for finalization of opposition-less government in Nagaland.

The meeting has been scheduled at State Banquet Hall, Kohima at 10:00 am.

“We will finalize everything on that day,” Zeliang told media persons on the sideline of attending a meeting of Nagaland’s Legislative Assembly (NLA) Select Committee to examine the Nagaland- Assam Border issue and Select Committee on SARFAESI Act, 2002 here today.

Formally, the government will have to write to Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker for changing the nomenclature of the government People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) into Nagaland United Government (NUG) and a copy to the Governor. That completes the process. So let us see the outcome of the September 18 meeting,” he said.

On being asked about the criticism from the state BJP side, he said that the BJP has got clearance from the High Command for all party- government, and maintained that the NPF has not placed any demand. “We came together for solution (of Naga issue),” Zeliang stated. He reminded that the NPF-led government in the past has also created an opposition-less government for solution.

“So today as opposition, we join hands for solution,” he said, adding that, “The truth will prevail.” He maintained that the intention of the NPF is very clear, irrespective of whether people take it in a negative or positive manner. “We wish this Naga issue is resolved before Christmas,” he concluded.
