A mass social work drive at the Zunheboto graveyard was initiated by the Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) in collaboration with the Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC) Youth Department on March 21.

Nupato Zhimo, Assistant Youth Leader ZTSBC, highlighted that the initiative is an annual event included in the Youth Department’s calendar. He informed that around 140 youths participated in this year’s social work. “We began the work at around 6 a.m. and are very glad to have the town councilors with us. They have been very supportive over the years, especially since their election,” he said.

He further stated that the Youth Department not only undertakes cleaning of the graveyard but also engages in cleaning town areas and drainage systems, aiming to contribute to the overall development and well-being of society.

Zhimo also expressed gratitude to the ZTC members for their continued support, noting that the councilors remained present throughout the social work and provided refreshments for the participants.

“The social work carried out by the ZTSBC Youth Department is also a response to those who question the church’s contribution to society. This is a simple answer to such queries,” he added.

Meanwhile, Herato Sukhalu, Chairperson of ZTC, acknowledged the efforts of ZTSBC and appreciated the cooperation extended by Rev Inakhu Sumi, Pastor, in contributing towards community service in the town.
