Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): Nagaland home-grown, JOME Foods Pvt Ltd has received the Acumen Angels Award for cultivating sustainable livelihood opportunities through ethical beekeeping targeting underserved beekeepers facing educational and language barriers, aiming to create market connections.
“It is amongst 21 winners globally who are recognised and celebrated for their exceptional achievement in contributing to society. The Acumen Angels Award recipients are from Nigeria, Malaysia, UK, Colombia, India, and beyond,” said Medoneizo Putsure, an Acumen Fellow and the co-founder of JOME Foods Private Limited in a press release.

Putsure stated that the organisation offers bee farmers, most of whom are women, with training, market linkages, and scientific bee boxes that improve honey harvests and substantially increase their incomes promoting the long-term viability of the industry. Under its brand name GALHO, it caters to consumers nationally seeking organic raw forest honey from the hills of Nagaland.
