Joshua Shohe emerged winner of ‘Ahuna Singing Star’

Zunheboto, November 13 (MExN): The “Ahuna Singing Star” contest, managed by New Age Production under the aegis of the Sümi Hoho, was the highlight of the second day of the Ahuna Festival in Zunheboto, celebrated on November 13.
Sümi Hoho Media Cell in a press release stated that this event drew 23 singers competing for the title, with judging provided by artists Alobo Naga, Hito Kiho, and Vivikali A Asumi. Joshua Shohe emerged as the Ahuna Singing Star, while Tonani Obeto Chishi was awarded runner-up. The champion received a cash prize of Rs 40000, and the runner-up received Rs 20000. Both winners were also presented with citations and a video contract sponsored by Aron Asumi Studio, Zunheboto, and New Life Recording Studio, Dimapur.
The programme, graced by Joseph Hesso, IPS, IGP (Administration), PHQ Kohima, included his inspiring message to remain committed to God, noting that success follows such devotion. He emphasised music’s power to heal and its role as a divine gift, encouraging its meaningful use. He also spoke on the importance of embodying one’s values to build a better community.
Hosted by Linovi Kiba, the event opened with prayers led by Agape Chishi, Associate Pastor (Youth) of Sümi Baptist Church Zunheboto.
The Sümi Hoho honoured two distinguished, multi-award-winning artists, Alobo Naga and Hito Kiho, with certificates of commendation.
The keynote address was delivered by Otova Swu, Vice President of the Sümi Hoho, and Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, also extended Ahuna greetings to the gathering.
