JTBLF celebrates first foundation day

The Japfüphi Thenuko Block Level Federation (JTBLF) today celebrated its first foundation day at Jakha Town Hall, Jakhama.  

JTBLF with 17 Village Level Organization in Southern Angami area has 224 SHGs with 2193 members and promoted by Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission under RD Block Jakhama of Kohima district. SHGs under the banner of JTBLF have been engage in various vegetable related cultivation activities including poultry and piggery since the formation of JTBLF in 2016. JTBLF act as a channel between the community and other agencies.  

Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, Er Zale Neikha, general secretary, Angami Sports Association and advisor Southern Angami Sports Association said the government policies and programmes are all targeted for the welfare and benefit of the people and the society. He, however, regretted that many people failed to utilize the same in proper manner.  

Neikha said that out of many programmes of Self Help Group mission, National Rural Livelihood Mission- Nagaland State Livelihood Mission under RD department is one of the best government programmes for upflifment of the poor people and the society like the state of Nagaland. In this, he stressed on the need to make best use of the package to boost the rural economy.  

Also asking them to ensure proper execution of the programmes and schemes, he urged upon the JTBLF members to be dedicated, honest and polite and be part of every capacity building programme designed for them. He also stressed on the need to avail the banking facilities to strengthen their venture. Er. Neikha also asked the members to go for cultivation of organic vegetables, which has huge demand in the market. He called upon them to avoid the use of herbicide for cultivation of vegetable as “it will affect our health from mild to deadly.” Later, Er Neikha formally launched JTBLF logo.  

Kenivole Richa, Block Project Manager, NSRLM, Jakhama block and Neichiizo Keyie, chairman, Mima village council also spoke on the occasion.  

Earlier, the function was chaired by JTBLF joint secretary Khrieno Khora while welcome address was delivered by JTBLF president Hovisale Khatso. JTBLF report was given by JTBLF secretary Rokono Kisotso while vote of thanks was proposed by JTBLF finance secretary Thejaseno Mekro.
