DIMAPUR, MAY 1 (MExN): The Jalukie Town Wards Chairman Union (JTWCU) today informed that completion of 66KV line from Ganesh Nagar to Peren district is pending despite written and verbal assurance given by the contractor and the department. A press note from the JTWCU informed that the contractor had given written assurance on June 10, 2016 that he would complete the transmission line and sub-station, Jalukie on or before July 31, 2016 and Peren Sub Station on or before September 30, 2016. “Verbal assurance was also given that the work will be completed before November 2016 as many important events were happening within the district during that time,” it added.
However the union lamented that the transmission line still stands incomplete. In this regard the organisation had submitted a memorandum to the Executive Engineer, Transmission, Nagarjan on August 26, 2016 and also to the Chief Engineer Power on September 20, 2016 to complete the work at the earliest. “But the contractor and the department failed to do so. Therefore, we urge the contractor and the power transmission department to commission the 66KV line to Peren district within May 2017,” it demanded.
