Soyim Student’s Union Ungma celebrates 75 years jubilee

The Soyim Student’s Union, Ungma celebrated its 75 years jubilee at Babu Tzubu Amphitheatre, Ungma under Mokochung district on December 28 and 29. 

Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly was the special guest while Prof Temjensosang Imsong, HoD, Department of Sociology, Nagaland University was the theme speaker.

The NLA Speaker in his speech said that jubilee is a time of retrospection, introspection and preparation for the future ahead. He stressed on three important areas which must be inculcated by students to achieve greater height, to prepare and better ourselves in all profession, to preserve and persevere with our identity and to pursue common vision.

Prof Temjensosang spoke on the jubilee theme ‘Terajem Shisaluyim.’ He said that the foundation of modern education is based on truth and that a student can achieve holistic education only when we utilize the wisdom given by God who he said was the greatest positive scientist of all times. He encouraged the students to inculcate transformative knowledge and wisdom that will bring about positive changes as they anticipate the 100 years jubilee celebration. 

Nungshilepden, Chairman, Ungma Village Council, Rev Dr Noklen Longkumer, and Sentilong Ozukum, EAC, Mokokchung also spoke on the occasion. The jubilee souvenir cover was released by the special guest. The main jubilee event was hosted by Pukum Jamir.
