Jubilee Memorial College, YUVA Tourism Club, celebrated World Tourism Day by organising a story writing competition themed ‘From Roots to Routes: Safeguarding Culture and Traditions in Tourism’ and a cleanliness drive where the members of the YUVA Tourism Club actively engaged in a Swachhta Pakhwada from the college premises to Milak junction.

Tsüngrosenla Jamir, Assistant Professor, Department of English, JMC, highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage and traditions in the realm of tourism in a brief programme. Tiasunep Aier from the third semester secured the first position, while Easter from the third semester and Ketinenla Amlari from the fifth semester claimed the second and third positions, respectively, at the story writing competition. The winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates.

“The commemoration of World Tourism Day at Jubilee Memorial College not only showcases the college’s commitment to promoting tourism but also emphasizes the importance of safeguarding our cultural heritage and traditions. It serves as a reminder to all attendees of the immense value that lies in preserving our unique identities while exploring the wonders of tourism,” said convenor of JMC Yuva Tourism Club.
