Dziilhami Baptist Church platinum jubilee celebrated
Dziilhami, December 20 (MExN): Dziilhami Baptist Church (DBC) platinum jubilee celebrations which start on December 17 on the theme ‘we will serve the Lord’ came to a fruitful conclusion on Sunday evening with lighting of candles by Sunday School Children Choir and sang ‘go light the world’ at Dziilhami Baptist Church.
As per a press release received here Dziilha is the last Chakhesang village along the Zunheboto state highway, after which comes Sumi villages. The village has a panoramic view of various mountain ranges and also boasts a view of 290 plus villages. Pastor DBC, Punusho Naroh in his messages told that in the year 1941, Late Rev. Duporii Vasa, Late Besiisho Ringa, Late Satso Vasa, Late Molhiiyi Shijo accepted Jesus Christ and continued to be steadfast in their faith and spread the good news, and on May 20, 1989, the whole populace of Dziilhami village made a declaration to embrace Christianity. On Sunday morning service, executive secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council, Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo preached the gospel on the topic ‘God’s faithfulness.’ In his messages, he said jubilee is a time of retrospection to evaluate our life and ministry as individuals and church to plan for future course of action for soul saving ministry.
On Sunday evening, president, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council, Rev. Khriitsoyi Liiriio said the early Christian were persecuted, despised, rejected from family, excommunicated from social life and even driven away from village boundaries. In the midst of such trials, early believers loved and cared each other which convinced the non-believers that they are worshipping the true and living God. “What we are today is only because of the patience and perseverance of the early Christians which we must reflect upon now,” said Rev. Luruo.
