Kohima, January 13 (MExN): The Jakhama Union Kohima (JUK) has condemned the alleged “physical assault” on Vizothal Zhotso, a member of the union and president of All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU), Kohima Unit.
“The inhuman attack unfolded at his residence in New Ministers' Hill colony, Kohima, on the night of January 6, carried out by two unknown armed assailants who ruthlessly left him unconscious. This heinous assault, characterized by a brutal attack involving pistol butts to his head, is nothing short of a cowardly act and an attempt to murder,” JUK stated in a press release. While condemning the violent act, JUK said that such act ‘has no place in a cultured community.’
“As such, we demand the perpetrators to come forward and provide a justification for their barbaric actions at the earliest; failure to do so will compel us to take our own course of action, leaving no stone unturned,” JUK stated.
The union further appealed “to the law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation process and apprehend the culprits in a timely manner.”
