Justice Lanusungkum Jamir becomes Acting Chief Justice of Gauhati HC

GUWAHATI, MAY 30 (MExN): Justice Lanusungkum Jamir, the senior-most judge of the Gauhati High Court, has assumed charge as the Acting Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court with effect from May 30, 2025. 

According to a notification issued by the Gauhati High Court, the appointment follows the Government of India's Notification No. K-13019/14/2025-US.I/II (i), dated May 29, 2025.

 The notification was issued by the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Law & Justice, Department of Justice (Appointments Division), New Delhi. Justice Jamir's appointment covers the jurisdictions of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh under the Gauhati High Court. The order was issued by the Registrar General (In-Charge) of the Gauhati High Court.
