JYO opposes traffic diversion to village

Dimapur, August 11 (MExN): A local youth organization in Jotsoma, Kohima, today expressed disgruntlement that traffic is being diverted  into  through the village. Jotsoma Youth Organization today requested public traveling from Kohima to Dimapur and vice versa, to take the Jotsoma by-pass road and Kohima-Laike road.

“… The Jotsoma Youth Organization strongly opposed the diversion of vehicles in the midst of the  village. The village road is constructed for easy communication for the village, which is narrow and runs throughout the length of the entire village and not made for heavy traffic flow, moreover, the road may not be safe for the children scattered here and there,” the organization said in a note today.

The JYO said several requests have been made to the authorities and the BRO in particular  for maintenance of the Jotsoma  by-pass road. But any response for improvement has yet to be, the JYO said. “…the villagers had been maintaining the Jotsoma by-pass  road and the Kohima Laike road for the past five, six years at our own expenses for vehicular mobility to  bring  our  essentials.”

The JYO expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the public ‘due to poor maintenance of the road’. “However, the public traveling from Kohima to Dimapur and vice versa are requested to use the Jotsoma by-pass  road and Kohima-Laike road.  Jotsoma Youth Organization has also assured best service and help whenever required. The public are informed to contact 985616220, 9856070662 and 9436005344  for  any  help.
