Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): The Kaibi Village Authority (KVA) has appealed tourist, group or party (general Public) to restrain themselves from organizing any function, picnic, party or fests at place called Kozhophe till a case pending on the court of law regarding the area is settled.
Called Kozhophe by Kaibi villager, the area is also called Zhopao by Koide villager and the said location is “a disputed land and that a case is pending under the judicial court,” a press release from KVA Secretary P Athishu informed.
“The intention of this circular is not meant to hurt the sentiment of anyone but an attempt to maintain peace and harmony between two villages with a sense of promoting the concept of brotherhood among us,” it said.
Till such time the case is being resolved or settled, the general public is requested to respect the sentiment of the concerned villagers and restraint from organizing any programmes, picnic or party, it added.
The release further maintained that, “If any group, party, organization or community breaches the appeal, it shall be construed that the party has an intentional-committal of involving in the issue with an ulterior motive to conspire and escalate the problems rather than initiating peace.”
It also regretted to inform that the organizers of Freedom Festival have identified the said location area as their camp site of the festival prior to consulting the KVA.
“In order to maintain tranquility and fraternity between neighbours, the KVA appeal everyone to set' aside the aforementioned site/venue from any social activities until the case is being resolved,” it said.
The KVA shall not bear any responsibility even if any incident is meted out to the defaulters in connection to the notice served, it added.
