Kailash Kher brings project band Surfira

  Noted Indian artist, Kailash Kher arrived Dimapur on Thursday along with his project band Surfira to perform at DDSC Stadium on December 1 evening as part of the Hornbill International Music Festival 2017. The music festival would begin at 5 PM.   Interacting with media persons at the airport, Kailash said he was honoured and happy to be a part of the festival and expressed his uncontrollable excitement at the response of his fans when he came to the State last year. He said that the Hornbill Music Festival caters to all kinds of listeners and lauded the Music Task Force and Government of Nagaland for organizing the event. “I am already in love with entire northeast and Nagaland is among the pioneers in art and culture,” the Padma Shree awardee said.   Kailash also expressed his wish to compose an entire album for the Hornbill festival adding, “we want to make audio visual about the festival.” The singer who extended a day of his stay in Nagaland will be performing alongside his band Surfira. He will also be visiting Kisama.   On a lighter note, Kailash added, “I like people chewing tamul.” He further expressed his desire to visit the Dzukou Valley.   Project Director, Music Task Force, Gugs Chishi who received Kailash at the airport expressed delight to have him in Nagaland for the second time. He informed that 23 bands including three foreign bands from America, Singapore and Bhutan would be participating at the International Rock Contest.
