Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): Aoleang, the premier festival of the Konyaks will be celebrated from April 1 to 6. The main programme will be held on April 5, at the Local Football Ground, Mon with Minister for PWD (R&B) Kaito as the chief guest while Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Public Relations, Economics and Statistic R. Tohanba as the guest of honour. A press note issued by S. Hongpi Konyak, DPRO, Mon informed that the function will be dedicated by District Chaplain, Mon Rev. J. Tenwang and Significance of Aoleang festival would be pronounced by Hoka, Former President Konyak Union. This will be followed by speech from the chief guest and guest of honour, respectively. SK. Tingnei Konyak, Former President Konyak Union will propose the vote of thanks and Cultural Dances by various Union under Mon Headquarter and Aoleang feast with traditional and modern cuisine will mark the celebration. The president Konyak Union Khoiwang Wangsa will chair the programme.
