
Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): Sümi Baptist Theological Association (SBTA) has lauded Naib Subedar Kakugha Wotsa of Xelhozhe Village under Kuhuboto sub-division, Dimapur for being commissioned into the Assam Regiment as Religious Teacher Junior Commission Officer on March 27, 2014. Wotsa passed out from the Institute of National Integration (INI) housed in the Pune campus of College of Military Engineering (CME), Dapodi.
A press release from SBTA general secretary Phushito L. Chishi informed that Kakugha Wotsa is the first among Sümi tribe to be inducted into the Indian Army from RT category and perhaps also from Nagaland state. He holds a Master of Theology degree and has been an active student leader. The SBTA along with Wotsa and his family have expressed happiness for the opportunity to work as a Chaplain in the Indian Army. The Association believed that Wotsa will put all his efforts in keeping the good morale and disciple of the Indian Army and wished him Almighty’s choicest blessings and guidance in all his future endeavors.
According to the press note, Indian Army, grappling with the problem of suicides and fratricides among its rank and file, particularly those posted in strife torn regions, has been increasingly turning to behavioural and social science training of not just the religious teachers joining its various regiments but also its officers.
