Nagaland's Youth Resources & Sports Advisor S. Keoshu Yimchunger launched Kapamodzü Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK) on November 23 at Zhamame village in Phek District.
This is the second VDVK launched in Phek district after Phusachodu within this week.
Van Dhan is part of Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY) scheme, sponsored by TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. As part of the launching programme, Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) organized VDVK level advocacy at Zhavame village.
Speaking on the occasion, Keoshu stressed on the need to revive the work culture which is diminishing today. He maintained that Nagaland is suitable for cultivation of any type of crops as it possess favourable climatic conditions and fertile land.
In this, he stressed on the need to involve in the agricultural sector with seriousness to boost rural economy.
Also speaking on the occasion, CAWD & Taxes Advisor, Kudecho Khamo was optimistic that Van Dhan scheme will bring sustainable livelihood.
Stating that Van Dhan scheme offers investment-less structure for the beneficiaries, he called upon the people to actively take up livelihood activities and gain maximum benefit.
He also thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for giving responsibility to Obed Quinker as NBHM chairman to take beekeeping affairs forward.
In his speech, Obed Quinker called upon the people to utilize the seeds well and also reminded the gathering that the success of any schemes largely depends on hard work and seriousness of the beneficiary.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by NBHM deputy team leader Er Khuvoyi Vese while Zhavame Village Council Chairman Zao Krocha delivered welcome address.
NBHM team leader and Additional Secretary to Government of Nagaland, Sentiwapang Aier was also present at the launching programme.
