Karbi Anglong bandh affects traffic

DIMAPUR, May 2 (NNN): The 48-hour in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district bandh has severely affected the movements of transporters from Nagaland and Manipur since this morning. Sources from the Karbi Anglong district headquarters Diphu said even though bandh has been total there have been no stray incidents from anywhere so far. Karbi National Liberation Army (KNLA) has imposed the bandh in protest against the killing of its two cadres on April 26 by the Assam police in a shoot-out. Meanwhile, a separate report said transporters from Nagaland and Manipur have crossed Karbi Anglong district coming from both the directions under heavy security. The KNLA bandh began from 5 am today.
