Karbi Anglong Gorkha bodies upholds ‘unity through sports’

Karbi Angiong, October 2 (MExN): With the theme ‘Unity Through Sports’ (Khelkuud Dwiara Ekto), the Karbi Anglong Gorkha Union under the aegis of Karbi Anglong Nepali Students Union (KANSU) organized a friendly football match at Balijan Ground on October 2.  

The chief guest, Lok Narayan Subba, Chairperson, Nepali Suraksha Perished, asserted that organizing the friendly match between the two neighboring states, Assam and Nagaland “brings unity among us and set a very good relation with one another.” The guest of honour, Kumar Subba, former Chairperson, Dimapur Gorkha Union appealed the Gorkha student bodies to organize such events in future so that it will create a good atmosphere within the Gorkha society and also bring unity through sports. 

Other guests present in the event were Khim Basnet, General Secretary, KANSU Bokajan District Committee; Anand Gurung, DGUSU president, MB Rai, KANSU advisor Mon Bosti; Rewati Sharma, NSP Karbi Anglong committee organizing secretary; Mahindra Sharma, NSP Karbi Anglong committee member; Jai Kumar Rai. NLCF GS; Hira Singh Chetri, NLCF Bokajan Regional GS; Arun Upadhya, Gaon Bura, Balijan; Rama Shankar Pandey, information and press Secretary Balijan Youth Club; Sampuran Rajbhar, Village chairman Borlengri 2; Krishna Chetri, Finance secretary Mandir Committee Borlengri 2. 

The friendly match between Karbi Anglong Nepali Students Union (KANSU) and Gorkha Students Union, Dimapur, was won by the latter won 4 – 1.
