KASU 35th biennial general conference underway

Dimapur, January 4 (MExN): Cultural activities and indigenous games marked the 35th biennial general conference of Kuhuboto Area Students’ Union (KASU) hosted by Kuhuboto town here on January 4.


A press release stated here that the inaugural session was graced by entrepreneur, Electo Yesca as guest of honour. In her address, Yesca urged the youngsters to first seek God’s blessing in everything they do. He also encouraged the students to work hard in order to achieve their dreams. Yesca also encouraged the educated youth to take the initiative and lead the people in the right direction.


Reminding the students that there was no substitute to hard work, she urged the students to work hard with commitment and determination to achieve their goals. On her arrival, the guest of honour also unfurled the union flag.


Earlier, presidential address was delivered by president KASU, Kabo G. Zhimomi while KGPO president, Kuhovi Zhimomi delivered the greetings message.


Cultural shows were performed by Tokugha Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, Luzheto Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, Suhoi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu and Kuhuboto town. Special song was presented by Roviche K. Yepthomi.


Indigenous games such as fire making, cart racing, spear kicking, etc were conducted.


Earlier, the introductory session was held on Thursday evening with an opening prayer by Rev. Kaiho Awomi, Nihoto Ghami Baptist Akukuhou.
During the four-day event, sporting activities such as volleyball, table tennis, badminton and loop race and various cultural activities and indigenous games and literary competition would be conducted among the 23 units under KASU.


The literary competition on Saturday will be graced Kakheli Inato Jimomi, department of Women ministry, WSBAK and Dr. Kavika K. Yepthomi, assistant professor MGM and NECU will be the main speaker.
The conference will conclude on January 6.
