Katibenla awarded at Samartya Event

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): In yet another milestone achievement, Katibenla an active member of the Disability People’s Organization, Khensa Village under the Care and Support Society Mokokchung was awarded for extra ordinary achievements of individual persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the field of art and culture in the Samartya Event.  

Collective action for Basic Rights Foundation (CBRF) in collaboration with Social Work Department of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Bangalore organised the event which was held on February 5 and 6.   Samartya is an annual Event held at Bangalore that celebrates the skills and achievements of the people with disabilities with an objective to showcase the talents, skills and achievement of the People With Disabilities (PWDs) hailing from Rural India and to create awareness among the general public on the issues of people with disabilities so that more support would be gained from the general public in taking forward the cause of persons with disabilities. From across 52,000 person with disabilities from 17 States and 1 Union Territories of India Katipenla was one among the achievers in the award ceremony.
