Mon, June 16 (MExN): Konyak Baptist Bkumeinok Bangjum/ Church Association (KBBB) has come out strongly condemning the killing of late Haiwang Konyak of Shangnyu village on June 13 at Hongshai in Tizit village. In a press statement issued by Executive Secretary, L Metjen the KBBB viewed that Tizit as of late has become a killing ground where factional antagonism is on the rise.
“The Naga Christians have, time and again, appealed for forgiveness among the brothers of various factions, but it always fall on deaf ears,” they regretted. Instead Nagas ought to forgive one another and be conscience-stricken for all the bloodshed in the past. The KBBB therefore appealed to all rivals groups to bury the hatchet and find means to restore peace and end all forms of killings. “Let us all fear God that one day every deed of human will come under the careful scrutiny of God's judgment,” they reasoned.
The KBBB emphasised the need to engage in dialogue and try to bring reconciliation among all Naga brothers. Killing, per se, is an act against God, therefore make no mistake, no one is authorized to take another life.
On account of Father’s day, the KBBB prayed for God's strength and comfort upon the bereaved family at this time.
