
Mon, June 21 (MExN): The KBBB Mission Centre at Mon Town (Ozekhangho), after years of flickering will literally shine brighter and see new ‘light’ with the installation of a new 63 KV transformer along with 19 new electric poles on June 21.
The Mission Centre of the Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjüm (KBBB), the apex body of the Konyak Baptist Churches was shifted to present location from Chinglangpang in 1979, according to a report received from the event.
The electricity was connected in 1980s but since then it was left unattended for decades and around 40+ households living at the centre facing various problems as a result. They have been appealing the Government either for extension or expansion and repairing of broken electric poles but it was left unattended till now, the report said. Dedicating the new transformer, Rev Chemyuh Konyak, Executive Secretary KBBB expressed gratitude to the concerned department, engineers and others on behalf of Mission Centre Community. Asangba EE Mon, Er K Tingten SDO Dimapur, and Manap JE were instrumental in bringing about the changes, it was informed. Lineman Langlen and 6 other workers also worked around 25 days to complete the project, the report added.
