Kohima, July 17 (MExN): The Khedi Baptist Higher Secondary School (KBHSS), Kohima Village celebrated the cultural day cum literary week on July 17 under the theme, ‘Venturing Visions’ at the School Auditorium with Dr. Thejayano Sekhose, Associate Professor, English Department, Nagaland University as the Guest Speaker.
The programme was chaired by Teisovise Khruomo, Convenor of the Cultural and Literary Committee and invocation prayer was done by Dr. Ruokuovilie Sachü, Associate Pastor, Khedi Baptist Kehou. Keynote address was said by Anukho Resu, Co-Convenor of the Cultural and Literary Committee. Folk songs and folklore were presented by the students of the School.
The guest speaker in her speech mentioned the importance of Culture which is essential for the Students to learn and know their roots. She also emphasis on the language i.e., Mother tongue which need more focus and attention at this present juncture. She encouraged the Students to give their best in everything that they do.
Kedoroko Casavi, Principal, KBHSS Kohima Village in a press release stated that traditional couple’s show of each tribe was showcased to know more about their dresses and festivals followed by various folk dances adding more meaning to the celebration of culture.
