Jalukie, April 4 (MExN): Good Friday, which marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary and Easter Sunday that marks the resurrection of Jesus was celebrated with religious fervor for the first time in Kuki Christian Church, Jalukie Town.

A press release from KCC Jalukie Worship & Youth Affairs Secretary, Seiminngam Chongloi informed that the celebration was held with the congregation following all COVID-19 safety measures.

The Kuki Christian Church, Jalukie arranged a special programme on Good Friday which included Bible reading by the youth, choreography, ‘singsipiration and Lenkhom’ throughout the day concluded by a ‘love feast.’

On Easter Sunday, the celebration marked the baptism of the youth “to strengthen their faith in Christ and to continue growth in their faith journey.” The day also saw special Church services, congregational hymnal singing, and words of encouragement from Pastor Nehlal Simte, Pastorate Pastor, KCC Jalukie. It concluded with the Lords’ Supper Holy Communion to remind the church members about the “blood and flesh Jesus Christ had shed for us on the cross and rose again so that we might have through Him-That’s Salvation.”

The Vote of thanks was proclaimed by the KCC Jalukie Secretary, Seilam Khongsai.
