Through funding from the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) and the BCCI, the Kohima District Cricket Association (KDCA) constructed a two lane practice facility at Jakhama Local Ground.

It was inaugurated on July 17 by the Jakhama Village Council Chairman Vizhopo Richa while the other side of the pitch was dedicated by KDCA Treasurer Dharam Singh.

KDCA President Diethonguzo Miachieo thanked the Jakhama Village Council for granting the space for the practice facility and also requested for future assistance to develop the player pool of the district.

Richa assured full cooperation for the purpose.

On the other hand, Richa expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for expansion of Jakhama Local Ground, adding that it was because of him, Jakhama accessed a 400 metre track ground.

Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by KDCA Vice President Gilbert Patton while Kevithü Savi invoked God’s blessing for the programme.
