Members of Kohima District Pharmacists Union during the observance of World Pharmacist Day held on September 25.
Kohima, September 25 (MExN): The Kohima District Pharmacists Union (KDPU) celebrated the World Pharmacist Day with the theme ‘transforming global health’ on September 25.
The day is observed with an aim to acknowledged the contributes made by pharmacists so that everyone benefits from access to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and health technologies and other pharmaceutical care services, KDPU stated in a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, Santu Thapa, District Pharmacy Officer (Retd) and Advisor KDPU said the theme has been rightly selected in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic where the responsibilities of pharmacist has increased manifold. The speaker also appreciated the services provided by the pharmacists in the health care team of the state machinery at various level and the services rendered to the people of the state.
The programme was chaired by KDPU General Secretary, Zayiechituo John Kipu, invocation by Thongsheni and vote of thanks was offered by KDPU, Vice-President, Ato.
