KDTA honours International Master Instructors

Kohima, September 14 (MExN): The Kohima District Taekwondo Association (KDTA) on Saturday hosted a felicitation ceremony at Zesta Taekwondo Academy New Market, Kohima and honoured Masters Theja Keretsü and Moon Thapa for their exceptional achievements in the global Taekwondo community.

The two masters successfully completed the rigorous 3rd International Taekwondo Masters Qualifying Course and the 3rd Taekwondo Poom Dan Examiner Course, both conducted by the Kukkiwon-the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

These certifications represent the highest level of technical mastery and official accreditation within the sport.

In a keynote address, KDTA former president Keduoneiu Sachu congratulated the masters, heralding their accomplishment as a historic first for Nagaland.

This is a significant milestone not just for them, but for our entire state,” he stated.

Their success on this international platform brings pride to Nagaland and will greatly benefit our Taekwondo ecosystem, he said.

Sachu encouraged them to impart their advanced knowledge and latest techniques to students, fostering the growth of the sport and inspiring the Naga youth.

Theja Keretsü and Moon Thapa, reflected on their journeys, emphasizing that the core tenets of Taekwondo-patience, hard work, perseverance, and the fear of God, which they said, are  fundamental component to their success.

They thanked Pele Khezhie, President, Nagaland Taekwondo Association, for his unwavering support in sustaining and promoting the sport in the region.

They also outlined their vision to leverage their new qualifications to uplift Nagaland’s Taekwondo students.

They plan to forge ties with international bodies and facilitate opportunities for local students to participate in high-level training and competitions abroad.

Earlier, the programme was presided over by  KDTA general secretary Diezekhonuo while Inaka Assumi, Youth Member of SBCK invoked God’s blessings.

The program concluded with vote of thanks delivered by KDTA vice president Menuosetuo Yiese.

It may be recalled that Kukkiwon, located in Gangnam, Seoul, is the world headquarters of Taekwondo.

It serves as the global authority for the art, setting the official standards for techniques, forms (poomsae), sparring, and instructor certifications.
