Congress candidate for Tuensang Sadar-II, Kejong Chang in an interview with The Morung Express said that he was contesting the bye election with big vision for the constituency and was willing to lay his life for the fulfillment of that vision.
Giving the history of his long-standing affinity with the people he said that he was not rejected by the people even in the 2003 election but was defeated “at gunpoint”. “Because of my many good works and achievement, my opponent had to bring a faction group to defeat me” he stated adding that he was still worried about Government security in the ensuing bye-election.
Kejong revealed that in the last election three AK 47s had been seized by the Congress youths and handed over to the DC and yet no action had been taken by the government.
Talking of wide spread booth capturing, he said that an unfair bye election would lead to a “very different general election”. Assuring his voters not to be afraid, Kejong said that whatever the consequences of the bye election, he would honour the people’s sacrifice for him by contesting from the same constituency.
