19-year-old, Kelülü Dawhuo was crowned the first ever Miss Universe Nagaland 2025 in a dazzling grand finale at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA) on June 10.
Reigning Miss Nagaland, 19-year-old, Anon Konyak was adjudged the first Runner-Up while 20-year-old, Teilih Konyak was adjudged the 2nd Runner-up.
The newly crowned Miss Universe Nagaland 2025, Kelülü Dawhuo is Miss Kohima 2024 and also won the 2nd Runner-up title of Miss Nagaland 2024.
During the question and answer round, she was asked about her thoughts on the biggest misconception that people have about beauty pageants wherein she responded that, “it is not only about glitz and glamour, but beauty pageants open doors to new opportunities for women, to raise voices and advocate purposes.”
As Miss Kohima 2024 and 1st Runner-up of Miss Nagaland 2023, she said that beauty pageant has molded her into a kinder and a more refined woman.
On the common question that the four finalists were asked about what campaign they would create to raise awareness on a global issue, she said, “ill-treatment towards girl”, to save and educate the girl child.

“Every girl has the right to be born, to dream without fear”, she said while underscoring that a girl is empowered through education and when a woman is educated, she added that, “she not only empowers herself but people around her.”
Reigning Miss Universe India, Rhea Singha said that one thing she immediately noticed is the level of support and love that’s given to pageantry while expressing that, “the girls here are so talented, and they so deserve it.” She also acknowledged Ruopfüzano Whiso, who represented the beautiful state of Nagaland last year
To the girl who would take the crown, she said, “do you best and enjoy this moment. And hopefully, you are the one who’s going to take back the crown for Miss Universe India this year.”
Director, Franchise Operations, Miss Universe India, Amjad Khan stated pleasure to be back to the Northeast where he was born. He also noted that by associating with Miss Universe, BASN is providing the platform which was long due, which he added, will transform in the future. He reiterated his hope that there will be more number of girls participating in the years to come. He also advised the girls to always focus on the results and never give reasons.
Ruopfüzano Whiso, Miss Universe Nagaland 2024, who represented the state at the Miss Universe India 2024 and was crowned the 4th Runner-Up also shared her journey. Being in the pageant world for the past eight years, she said, “a beauty queen is a woman who understands the art of the heart.” She also acknowledged the support of her home state, Nagaland where she received so much love, support and advice all of which helped shaped in the pivotal moment. “We got the crown together and for me, it is the crown of the heart, and I pass this legacy to the next successor”, she expressed.
The Panel of Judges were Dr. Theyiesinuo Keditsu, Indigenous feminist, poet, academic & educator, Reigning Miss Universe India, Rhea Singha, and Amjad Khan, Director Franchise Operations, Miss Universe India.
The event managed and produced by Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland and Glamanand Supermodel India also featured stunning performances by different artistes.
