Kenye urges women to work for ‘social reformation’

Nagaland’s lone Rajya Sabha MP KG Kenye on October 10 called upon the women folk to play an important role in building a vibrant society.  

Speaking at the 11th Triennial general session of Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) at Pfutsero, Kenye urged upon the mothers to reach out to the community and spread the atmosphere of love, affection and care to secure a peaceful coexistence.  

Women are peacemakers, he said and further asked them to maximize their endeavour towards social reformation. While safeguarding rights and fighting for justice, he said, mothers must be also be sensible in taking appropriate decision in accordance with social practice aspect as well.  

Asking the mothers to promote and practice the rich culture and tradition of the Nagas, he asked them to reach out to every household to uphold the good moral values of forefathers.   

He also challenged them to connect children to live upto the principle of trustworthy and hardworking for productive and responsible citizen tomorrow.  

Minister for Planning & Coordination and Land Revenue Neiba Kronu in his address at the valedictory function challenged the womenfolk to move forward with positive attitude.  

Mothers have many roles to play to mend the fragmented society, he said adding that it should start at home with all humility.  

He also urged CMA to stay united and move ahead with transparency and accountability.  

Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Kekhwengulo Lea shared greetings while CMA president Zaposhelu Venuh delivered the presidential address.
