Kohima: MLA Khriehu Liezietsu, advisor Music Task Force, New and Renewable Energy and chairman DPDB Kohima expressed gratitude to Kesao Kesiezie, ex-president KCCI, for generously offering his land at Niepfü for disposal of garbage that had been piled up in Kohima for the past few days.
He has also expressed his appreciation to the KCCI, the APO, the KMC and District Administration for their active role in bringing about this temporary but very important solution to the present crisis.
Meanwhile the Chairman has informed that an alternative plot of land at Medigei is in the process being acquired which hopefully will be functional in a short time.
In this regard, he has also acknowledged the land owners of the said area for their generosity which he said will go a long way towards development and well being of Kohima town. At the same time, he has requested the land owners to continue rendering their help and co-operation in future undertakings.
In the meantime, Liezietsu has requested concerned land owners of the earlier dumping sites to re-consider their stand so as to enable KMC to resolve the crisis in a smooth manner since all efforts are being put into making the site at Medigei functional at the earliest.
