Jalukie, June 20 (MExN): The Jalukie’B Baptist church, in the name of its forthcoming Golden Jubilee 2021, had produced and dedicated the second edition of the songbook “Ketwa Lei” duly approved by the ZBCC Literature Committee, on June 19.
Izie Terieng, Executive Secretary ZBCC Peren dedicated the songbook in the name and for the glory of God and congratulated the church for taking such initiative and successfully completing the second edition of “Ketwa Lei” in the appropriate time. He also enlightened the church members on the scope and importance of “Ketwa Lei” and its utility for churches under ZBCC, as the song book is comprised of songs that match with all Christian occasions.
It is also worthwhile to remember that “Ketwa Lei” was first translated and compiled by Baptist church Jalukie’B in the year 1978 and later on, the songs were approved by the ZBCC Literature committee and produced in bulk in the year 1990. A gap of 22 years have lapsed since the last production and this year again the church was able to produce the song book in the same theme and order but with improved design and quality. One important significance of the song book “Ketwa Lei” and the attachment it had with the mother church is that, a song festival known as “Ketwa Lei Ngyi” is celebrated by the mother church once in two years. People participate in events like singing competition, social gathering and feasting in the church compound and are still prevalent today.
This year the songbook is being produced in limited quantities for the time being and is meant to be sold out to local churches under ZBCC at affordable price in the name of Jalukie’B Baptist church Golden Jubilee 2021. Further information regarding the matter can be obtained from Baptist Church Jalukie’B Nagaland.
This was stated in a press release issued by Kedipeung Hiekha, Pastor Baptist Church Jalukie’B.
