Kezoma Women Society (KWS) observed International Women's Day at the village council hall on March 8. Kezoma village is under Kohima district.
Administrator, Whito School, Kohima, Matiro Yore while addressing the women folk as guest speaker called women to honour the day as women play unique role in building a surrounding they live in. The speaker, cited for instance that like a house is built by bricks and stone, so is a home built by love and good upbringing by the driver and expounded how it forms the essence and guides the home or space they live in
She encouraged the parents to begin a culture of passing one’s learning and good ways of life to the children it does not just end with them but is preserved for posterity.
Yore said with the unique role that women play, it is also accompanied by challenges which one should overcome by being relentless and passionate.
Despite the considerable improvement of position and participation of women in various arenas, the speaker further asked them to keep going in the same pace and direction of learning and growth.
The programme was chaired by Dzüvinü Tase and Dusüle Sachü, Chairman, Kezoma Women Society (KWS) delivered Welcome address and VDB Secretary, Kezoma, Rokovotso Mekro conveyed greetings on the occasion. The daylong programme also saw debate competition for the women.
