Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), one of the world’s leading fast-food chains, inaugurated its newest outlet in Nagaland at Mokokchung on Wednesday, July 30. This marks the 10th KFC outlet in the state and the first in the district.
The outlet was officially inaugurated by Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, during a brief dedicatory programme held at the store premises in Sangtemla Ward, near the Indian Post Office on IM Road. A dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Dr Zulu Jamir, Associate Pastor of Kumlong Baptist Church.

Speaking to members of the press, KFC Trainer Dipayan Dutta highlighted that Nagaland, with its 10 operational outlets, ranks second in the Northeast in terms of the number of stores—out of a total of 58 KFC outlets across the region. He noted that KFC currently operates in Dimapur, Kohima, Chümoukedima, and now Mokokchung, with further expansion planned in other districts.
MD Sagir, the Market Manager overseeing 28 outlets in the region, stated that the response in Nagaland has been “very good and very successful,” prompting the brand to increase its presence across the state. He also mentioned that the Mokokchung outlet was completed in approximately 45 to 50 days.

The outlet will operate from Monday to Saturday, between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM. In addition to dine-in and takeaway services, delivery operations are expected to commence within 5 to 10 days.
