Khaghaboto GHS without math, science teacher

Dimapur, February 12 (MExN): The Khaghaboto Area Students’ Union (KASU) has expressed dismay at what they termed the “lethargic attitude” of the Nagaland State Department of School Education (DoSE) in posting mathematics and science teachers in Government High School Khaghaboto.
A press release from KASU’s President, Kheto Ayemi, and Education and Statistical Secretary, Viwoka Awomi, today stated that the Union had publicized the non-availability of math and science teacher in GHS, Khaghaboto in October 2018. But “so far, there has been no positive response from the Department.”

“The examination for Class 8 and 9 was conducted with just one Mathematics teacher who has already retired on January, 2019. Given the situation, where the future of the students is at stake, the Union have arranged volunteers with B.Sc Degree from among its members to teach the students till the appointment is made by the DoSE,” stated the KASU.

It reminded the DoSE that the students of GHS, Khaghaboto, will appear their HSLC Exam without mathematics and science teachers.

To showcase their resentment against the DoSE with regard to the issue, the KASU has instructed students appearing the exam as well as the present Class 10 batch to wear black ribbons.
