DIMAPUR, APRIL 21 (MExN): The NSCN (Khango) and the NSCN (Akato) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to “work together” towards “joint military defense” and “joint political talks with the Government of India.” 

The MoU was signed by the two groups’ Chairmen, Lt General (Retd) Khango Konyak and Akato Chophi and General Secretaries, Hokato Vusshe and Michael Yeptho.

On the “joint military defense,” the two groups agreed that “in the event of assault to any member or parties of this agreement by any domestic or foreign enemies, both the signed parties shall henceforth corroborate to neutralize such threats.” 

Meanwhile, on the “joint political talks with the Government of India,” both the parties have in, "letter and spirit agreed to pursue the political dialogue under one platform with the GoI , towards achieving permanent solution to the vexed Naga Political issue, in the interest of both the parties and the Nagas in general.”
