DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 22 (MExN): Minister for Industries and Commerce, Sericulture and Border Affairs, H. Khekiho Zhimomi inaugurated the Kepty Aromatic Distillation Industry, near Phenshunyu under Tseminyu Sub-Division. Addressing the gathering, Khekiho lauded the people of the area saying that their hard work and sincerity had got the industry set up in the area. He reminded the public that funds and facilities will be given but it depends on the public how to make proper use of it. He called on the Naga people to change the attitude of not respecting/protecting government property and exhorted them to start treating government property as one’s own individual belonging since it was being provided for the well being of the public
On the political front, Minister Khekiho pointed out that the NPF led DAN government, despite criticism and all out-effort to dislodge it, is going to complete 5 years of good governance and has been able to reach to all the corners around the state delivering all round development. “If we (govt.) were not committed and confident, we would not have come this far and so also not have done any development for the people. We are confident that we will remain in power even in the coming term so that we will be able to do more for the state and its people”, he said. He, therefore urged the Naga people to vote NPF, which is the only party to protect the identity and ideology of Nagas, back to power and reap more fruits of prosperity and development.
Urging the voters to favour Parliamentary Secretary, R. Khing in the coming state polls and take the opportunity to uplift the area, he said Khing is a befitting leader of Rengmas, who can do much more for the tribe. He also urged the community to always have the spirit of unity and asked the leaders and GBs to lead the villagers righteously. Khekiho gave away Rs. 5,000 each to all cultural troupes that presented songs and dances during the function and Rs. 10,000 each to Phenshunyu, Khenyu and Rumesinyu villages.
Guest of honour of the inaugural programme, R. Khing expressed gratitude to government and Minister Khekiho for helping the area to set up the plant, which will bring a new beginning of self-sustenance. In his brief speech, Alemtemshi Jamir, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce and Agriculture Production Commissioner, said that the opening of a new plant is a small step but a giant leap towards the advancement of industrialization of Nagaland. He encouraged the villagers to give more emphasis on aromatic and medicinal plant farming.
