Khelo India University Games Ashtalakshmi enters 2nd day

Nagaland’s Governor to grace grand finale today

The   Khelo India University Games Ashtalakshmi 2023 entered second day here today at India Gandhi Stadium Kohima.

In 62 kg Seniors Women’s Wrestling, Pragati Vinod Gaikwad from Bharati Vidyapeeth University Maharashtra (BVUM) won the Gold, Nitika from DU secured silver and Vaishnavi Dilipppatil from University of Mumbai begged Bronze.

In 72 Kg Women’s Wrestling Manju from Chandigarh University clinched Gold, Varsha from Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa and Tanu Sharma from Punjab University bagged silver and bronze medal respectively.

In 59 kg Seniors Women’s Wrestling, Manju from DU won Gold, Nitika from Chandigarh University bagged Silver and Deepti from Punjab University won Bronze.

In 53 kg Seniors Women’s Wrestling Nancy from CKU bagged Gold, Kirti from Lovely Professional University (LPU) won Silver and Sheetal from Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani as Bronze medal.

In Freestyle Seniors 92 KG, Sachin from Chandigarh University won Gold, while Himanshu Antil (DCRUST) won Silver and Prateek Fougat from SGU won Bronze medal.

Freestyle Seniors (65 kg): Gold: Pardeep (SKVVC), Silver: Jasbir Khatkar (PUP), Bronze; Atul (GKU)
Greco- Roman Senior (97 kg), Gold: Yashveer (GJU), Silver: Ganesh Bramhadev Chavan (PAHSU), Bronze: Sonu (CU)
Greco-Roman Seniors (72 kg), Gold: Naveen (VBSPU), Silver: Anil (MDU), Bronze: Sachin( CU).
Greco- Roman Seniors (63 kg): Gold: Pawan (CBLU), Silver: Hariom Puri (RTU), Bronze: Ankit (GNDU)
Meanwhile, Nagaland’s Governor La Ganesan will grace the grand finale on February 25 at 6:00 pm.
The closing ceremony will also witness Naga style wrestling bout.
