Kohima, January 27 (MExN): The Khezhakeno Youth Organization (KYO) held its 32nd general session on January 22 last with parliamentary secretary for soil & water conservation Pukhayi Sumi as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Pukhayi said that Khezhakeno is an ancestral home of the Nagas, adding that most of the major tribes have migrated from this village.
Quoting “Well begin is half done,” he called upon the youth to be God fearing and be a responsible person of the society.
He also urged upon the youth to stay united and be the torch bearer of the society as Khezhakeno being the ancestral home of the Nagas and set a good example to others.
He also exhorted the youth and the villagers to elect God fearing people as their representative to the state assembly.
Advisor treasuries & accounts Dr. T.M. Lotha while touching on unemployment problem, said that the government cannot accommodate the whole educated youth in the government sector.
In this, he called upon the youth to focus in private sector like tourism as Khezhakeno possess immense potential in such sector.
Also speaking on the occasion, parliamentary secretary for planning & coordination, evaluation, monitoring cell and taxes Neiba Kronu said that Khezhakeno is one of the most visited places in Nagaland because of its historical importance and eco-tourism.
In this, he asked the village to make the best use of its potentialities to boost the economy of the village.
Khezhakeno Village Council chairman S. Kepfiilhou also spoke on the occasion while M. Kodonyi Sono pronounced an act of blessing.
Earlier, KYO president L. Viengolo Koza delivered presidential address while vote of thanks was proposed by Neikodo Chikha.
