Khing graces PKR Golden Jubilee celebration

Kohima | January 5 : The Phenshünyu-Khenyu and Rümensinyu Students’ Union (PKRSU) has celebrated its golden jubilee at Phenshünyu village under the theme “Forging ahead.” Addressing the celebration on January 4, Parliamentary Secretary for Horticulture R.Khing stressed the need for introspection and retrospection of the achievement and failure in the last 50 years.
“We are celebrating what the pioneers have sown 50 year ago and we have seen the achievement they have made”, he said and also pointed out that most of the pioneers have become responsible government officers, public leaders and citizens of the community and asked the student to emulate them.
Stating that student is the most crucial part of life, he asserted that one need to devote their whole time and strength in studies. He also warned that it is also the most susceptible period to bad habit such as addiction to drugs and alcoholism. The greatest enemy is your bad companion which can destroy your ambition and goal in life, he added.
Earlier, Khing also unveiled the jubilee monolith which was dedicated Rev Yhunlo Thong, Pastor Tseminyu Old Town Baptist Church.
The three days jubilee celebration started with Alemtemshi Jamir, Additional Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner as the inaugural guest on January 3.
The three day long celebration was also graced by Kegwanye Lorin, President Rengma Hoho, Er.G Keppen, Director, Industries & Commerce, Dr. P.S Lorin, Principal, Tetso College, Sovima, Dimapur and Kenilo Apon, Director, State Lotteries Nagaland.
