Khing inaugurates NSCB First Computerized Branch

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 20 (MExN): The only State owned Apex Co-Operative Bank, Nagaland State Co-Operative Bank Ltd (NSCB) has become the first computerized branch in Nagaland after its inauguration at Dimapur Main Branch on August 20 last. Parliamentary Secretary for Co-Operation and Fire Service etc R Khing as the Chief Guest of the function inaugurated the 12 computers by ‘Switching on Line’. 

“Nagaland State Co-Operative Bank is the only National Bank in the cooperative sector catering to the needs of poor since its inception i.e. since licensing of the bank by the RBI in 1967,” the Chief Guest addressed in his speech. “Coming to the Computerization programme undertaken by the Bank, I feel the Bank has taken right decision in time”, R Khing added. 

He encouraged the employees of NSCB to be more sincere, dedicated and more prompt in delivering their service as competition has already began with many private banks coming up in the city. He also brought to notice that while extending loans for various sectors the bank is crippled with problems of poor recovery which ultimately affected its financial stability adversely. R Khing however, cautioned the willful defaulters that ‘the sate government will not remain as a mute spectacular if they try to evade the repayment of loan available from the NSCB.’ 

“Our Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is very keen to see that the NSCB become strong and vibrant to enable it to shoulder its responsibilities effectively”, the Chief Guest said in his speech conclusion.

The Guest of Honour of the occasion Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Abhijit Sinha IAS in his speech persuaded the employees to be more computerization friendly for better service to the customers. 

BK Thandani Managing Director NSCB Ltd. Dimapur in the keynote address said that the introduction of computerization and on line banking will enable the Bank to provide better banking facilities to the esteemed customers. 

The MD said, “The State government is extending all possible helps to this State partnered Bank and it took cabinet decision to transfer all VDB funds to the branches of NSCB wherever they exist for which the Management is grateful to the State government”. Thandani acknowledged the DC for his prompt action in summoning the defaulters for making good settlement with the bank which evoke good response from the defaulters.

Former Vice Chairman NSCB Ltd and K Hokuto Zhimomi Board of Director, NSCB Ltd Dimapur District also spoke on the function while L N Ngullie Board of Directors NSCB Ltd Wokha District said the welcome address. Youth Director TBC Visaseir Kevichusa pronounced the invocation and Dr G D Banerjee DGM (OIC) NABARD Nagaland Regional Office delivered the vote of thanks. The whole programme was hosted by Registrar of Co-Operative Bank Ltd Imtila Jamir.
