Mokokchung, February 19 (MExN): The Kyong Hoho Mokokchung (KHM) has strongly condemned the February 9 incident, where late Temsusenla Jamir of Changki village was “burnt and made to suffer for 10 days without any medical attention at the residence of Tsanthungo that led to her eventual death.” A press release issued by the Hoho general secretary Mhombemo Ngullie and chairman Nyamo Z Yanthan stated, “The manner in which Lt. Temsusenla Jamir was made to suffer was so inhuman and beyond human comprehension that no amount of human tolerance would accept such cruelty in a civilized society.”
The KHM further clarified to all concerned that “while ascertaining the identity of the so called Chubasunep Lotha and Tsanthungo Lotha, it was confirmed that neither the father nor the son had any affiliation or association with the Kyong/Lotha community in any manner.” It said Tsanthungo was neither adopted nor a bonafide member of any Lotha village. It also added, “so called Tsanthungo Lotha was born to a Lotha mother, but his father was a Manipuri by name Mankia, hailing from Meitrain village in the state of
Manipur.”
Therefore, KHM has notified to Chubasunup Lotha and Tsanthungo Lotha to apologize to Kyong/Lotha community for “tarnishing the good image of the Lotha community within 10 days from the date of this publication, failing which action will be initiated as per the Kyong Customary Law.”
