Khm Inter High School Tourney: Baptist High, Rüzhükhrie, Loyola, CC School enter semis

Kohima, April 7 (MExN): Baptist High, Rüzhükhrie Higher Secondary School, Loyola Higher Secondary School and Children Christian School entered the boy's football semifinal of the ongoing Kohima district inter-high school tournament played here at Indira Gandhi Stadium on Thursday. The four-day long tournament is being organised by department of Youth Resources & Sports. 

In boy's football, Baptist High defeated Mount Hermon via tie breaker 5-4 after the match ended in a goalless draw to book their semifinal berth. Despite a good fight from both teams, they failed to break through in the stipulated time. However, Mount Hermon School keeper missed the decisive kick in the penalty shootout 5-4 to end their saga.

Rüzhükhrie HSS continued their dominance in the tournament as they thrashed Don Bosco HSS by 9-1. Rüzhükhrie player Kezhaletuo scored five goals; Keviu added two, while Neihelie and Ketoungulie scored a goal each.

Up next, in the semifinal match on Friday, Rüzhükhrie HSS will play against Baptist High at 1:00 pm. 

In Pool B, Loyola HSS outclass Grace HSS by 4-0 to enter semis. Avizo Phira scored a hat-trick, while Medonguzo Phira added a goal for Loyola team. 

Children Christian School defeated Mount Sinai by 2-1 in the last quarterfinal match. Mutsuhu and Juniho scored for CC School and the long goal for Mount Sinai was scored by Jovelhu in the dying minutes. CC School will now lock on Loyola HSS in the semifinal match on Friday. 

For girl’s football, Loyola HSS will play against TM HSS in their first semifinal match at 8:00 am while GMS Meriema will play against Rüzhükhrie HSS in the second semifinal match at 9:30 am. 

The sporting events for badminton and table tennis will also begin on March 8 onwards at IG Stadium.
