DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 29 (MExN): The Kidnapping saga of September 21, involving a ten year old schoolboy took a new turn on Thursday, further complicating matters for the police while baffling investigators all the more. According to a report received Thursday evening, the father of the boy is now missing and has stopped all contact with police investigators. The father is said to have gone missing since Wednesday. Where he went missing is yet to be established.
He no longer acknowledged efforts made by the police to reach him yet he is believed to be in Dimapur, in sound health, as he had received one call made to him on Thursday by one of his laborers, sources said. Police were expecting a breakthrough of sorts on Wednesday night but the disappearance of the father added more confusion. Investigators had reportedly carried out raid at an undisclosed location in Dimapur on Wednesday night based on a number provided by the father. He was said to have been receiving ransom calls through that number. However the effort did lead to fruition as the number turned out to be hoax, reportedly meant to mislead.
